Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

In light of tragic events that have affected the African-American community, the VSCPA firmly supports those who are advocating for change in the justice and economic systems in America. We are committed to taking actions to eliminate systemic racism in our communities by increasing dialogue, education and awareness.

Read the VSCPA's full statement on racial injustice and send feedback or questions to [email protected]. We welcome your thoughts on how we can improve the profession and bring our communities together.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is one of the VSCPA's core organizational values as we strive to foster an environment that recognizes and reflects a diversity of people, cultures and perspectives. In 2019, the VSCPA signed onto CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™, and created a special Diversity & Inclusion Board of Directors Task Force to recommend efforts to further realize our values. CEO Action for Diversity & InclusionTM Day of Understanding

Together, we have the power to change how people talk to their colleagues about tough topics and move the needle toward a more just and equitable world. Our hope is that by actively listening to your authentic stories, we can lay the foundation to better understand each other’s points of views and experiences, especially when they may be different from our own. Here are a few resources and programs to help you get started or even hold your own Day of Understanding.
