VSCPA President & CEO

Stephanie R. Peters, CAE, is president & chief executive officer of the Virginia Society of CPAs, a statewide professional association for Certified Public Accountants (CPA). She leads staff in the execution of VSCPA and VSCPA Educational Foundation missions and oversees execution of VSCPA Board of Directors directives. She serves as the primary staff liaison to the VSCPA and the VSCPA Educational Foundation executive committees.

Stephanie joined the VSCPA in 1997 as part of the government affairs team. She now leads the organization on national and state professional issues, legislative and regulatory activities, and external relations. As president & CEO, Peters is a member of the VSCPA Board of Directors and its Executive Committee. Nationally, Peters has served as president on the CPA Society Executives’ Association Board of Directors, on the AICPA Peer Review Board, and on the AICPA/NASBA Uniform Accountancy Act Committee.

A Certified Association Executive (CAE), Peters has also served as president of the Virginia Society of Association Executives and received its CEO Award of Excellence. She also sits on the Executive Committee of the Virginia Council on Economic Education and is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management.

Stephanie received her bachelor's degree in history from the University of Virginia and her Master of Public Administration degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.
