Mentoring Program

Build relationships. Receive guidance. Grow professionally.

Why mentoring?

Mentoring helps you build valuable connections with fellow VSCPA members. Whether you're looking to gain knowledge, receive guidance or grow professionally, a mentoring relationship can provide the support and insight you need to reach your goals.

How does the mentoring program work?

Getting started is easy — just apply, and we’ll match you with a mentor or mentee. Once paired, you’ll decide how often to meet, whether virtually or in person. The program is self-directed, but we’ll help you get started with a kickoff call in September and a guide to set goals and build a strong connection.

Program Details

  • The VSCPA Mentoring Program is currently not accepting applications! Applications for our next cohort will open in June of 2026.

"I enjoyed the interactions and connections I had with my mentee and appreciated what she brought to the relationship. I mostly liked the freedom the mentee has in deciding how much or how little they choose to interact and connect.

"Mentorship provides more than direction for a career. It provides clarity in life and making vital life-changing decisions. It provides a community and an environment of trust and belonging."

— Elizabeth Owusuwaa, CPA

“I’ve gained a lot as a mentee, and the biggest thing is growth, not only in the profession, but in who I am as a person.”

— Justin Collins, CPA

"The mentoring program gave me a chance to learn from someone who has already traveled the path I'm about to take, which was one of the aspects I appreciated most. My mentor gave me a unique viewpoint and helped me avoid potential mistakes by sharing their personal experiences and lessons learned."

— Jeffrey Kum, CPA, mentee
