Virginia to Begin Issuing Tax Rebates

In the fall of 2025, taxpayers with a tax liability will receive a rebate of up to $200 for individual filers and up to $400 for joint filers. The Virginia Department of Taxation (TAX) is issuing rebates in the order taxpayers filed their returns. A few details:

• If taxpayers are eligible and filed before July 1, 2025, TAX will send the rebate by October 15.
• Taxpayers must file by November 3 to receive the rebate. See Individual Income Tax Filing for filing options.
• If the taxpayer has already filed 2024 taxes, no action is needed.
