Overview

Leadership is not limited to a title, and feedback is not limited to a performance review. This session provides practical strategies for giving constructive feedback, receiving it without defensiveness, implementing what you learn, and following up to reinforce growth. Participants will explore how ownership, humility and mutual influence can strengthen performance, trust and leadership at every level.

George Crowell, Principal, Harris, Hardy & Johnstone, P.C.

George G. Crowell, CPA, CITP, is a partner and assurance leader with Harris, Hardy & Johnstone, P.C. in Richmond, Virginia. He brings more than 30 years of public and governmental accounting experience, advising closely held businesses and nonprofit organizations on assurance, taxation, technology-enabled finance, and organizational risk. His experience spans the construction, healthcare, hospitality, and retail industries. Before entering public accounting, George served four years in the U.S. Army and began his accounting career as an information systems auditor with Virginia’s Auditor of Public Accounts. He graduated cum laude from Virginia Tech in 1993.

George is committed to developing both people and the accounting profession. He has created firmwide training programs, supported work-based learning opportunities for high school students, and currently served on the VSCPA Pathways & Belonging Council and currently serves on the board of the Virginia Public Safety Foundation. Drawing on decades of leading teams and advising organizations, George brings a candid, practical perspective to leadership, accountability, and the constructive exchange of feedback.
