Presentation Material Guidelines

September 30, 2018

All materials are due no later than four weeks before the conference to allow sufficient time for the VSCPA to review, compile, upload and/or print them for attendees.

Please remember it is your responsibility to obtain written permission to use any copyrighted materials within your presentation.

PowerPoint presentations are due four weeks prior to the conference date and will be provided electronically to attendees. The VSCPA will convert your file to a PDF format before it is uploaded. Printed manuals are also available to attendees for purchase and will be handed out at check in on the day of the conference.

The VSCPA does not provide a PowerPoint template for our events; however, please follow the guidelines below.

  • Tips
    • For the benefit of your students, please refrain from using dark background colors in your PowerPoint presentation. Dark background colors do not reproduce well in printed course materials.
    • Please limit clipart and other graphics.
    • Use dark, easy to read fonts sized at least 24 points.

Speaker Credit Hours

For new or updated presentations, speakers can receive CPE credit for speaking and preparation based on a 50-minute CPE credit hour. During each 3-year period, a maximum of 30 hours for preparation and delivery is allowed. These are the responsibility of the presenter and should be self reported.

Speakers are eligible to attend the conference at no cost. Please inform the Conference Manager which days you plan on attending, so the VSCPA can plan accordingly.

If you are claiming credit in a state other than Virginia, please check with the appropriate State Board of Accountancy for credit hour guidelines.
