Employee Benefit Plan Auditing: Educational Opportunities & Certificate Programs

September 30, 2018

Any CPA who conducts audits knows about the increasing scrutiny concerning audit quality. How can you set yourself apart in the market so that clients (and employers) feel confident in your work and ability to conduct employee benefit plan audits correctly?

Educational Opportunities

The Virginia Society of CPAs (VSCPA) is offering the following courses to increase your competency regarding employee benefit plan audits:

Certificate Programs

The American Institute of CPAs' (AICPA) certificate programs provide a way for audit practitioners to demonstrate their competencies surrounding employee benefit plan (EBP) audit engagements and to distinguish themselves in the marketplace. You have two options to help you obtain your certificate:

  1. Bundled package that includes the in-person course + exam (A $69 savings on the exam!)
  2. Stand-alone exam

Use the links above to register for the in-person courses (with or without exam) or click here to purchase the exam alone.

Digital Badges

Your certificate will be issued electronically as a digital badge. For information on how digital badges work, please see the AICPA's Digital Badge FAQ page

A digital badge is a validated, standardized record of knowledge and skills earned in various learning environments. Digital badges make it easy for professionals to demonstrate their competencies to employers, clients and peers. Your digital badge has a unique URL that can be shared electronically via social media, in your email signature, on your firm site, in proposals and more.

For more information on the certificate programs and digital badges, please visit the AICPA's website.

The Virginia Society of CPAs (VSCPA) is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.
