Ryan Brogan

Ryan Brogan has been a supervisory special agent in the cyber division for over 10 years and is an expert in global cyber investigations, internal corporate investigations and international law.  Prior to becoming a Special Agent with the FBI he was a full stack software developer/engineer and database architect who worked on enterprise system development and deployment. He earned his BS from Villanova University in 2004 and MBA from St. Joseph’s University in 2008 with a focus on software engineering.  His current area of expertise is computer network defense and global cyber investigations focusing on active network defense leading to the disruption, takedown, and apprehension of individuals responsible for zero-day development and deployment, botnet deployment, and remote code execution resulting in ransomware attacks.  Prior, he has been responsible for the disruption and arrest of dozens of individuals involved in some of the most highly technical hacking groups who were responsible for intrusions into major communication organizations, government systems, and high-level official’s personal communication accounts.  SSA Brogan has identified and apprehended targets in over 15 countries to include actors in Australia, UK, Denmark, Finland, Germany and the US.  Outside of investigations, he is also a firearms instructor for the Cyber division.
