Lisa Howze, an accomplished CPA and recognized leader, brings over three decades of experience in government, higher education, and the accounting profession. As a career strategist, empowerment speaker, and author of the book, “Candy Girl Mentality: Keys to Turning Bitter Moments into Sweet Success”, Lisa is dedicated to uplifting others and seeing opportunity in every challenge.
A former Michigan state representative and candidate for Detroit mayor, Lisa's leadership is marked by grace, determination, and serving the greater good. As founder and CEO of The Lisa Howze Experience, LLC – a professional development and education consulting firm – she uses engaging speaking and training techniques to empower professionals and students alike. Lisa is also a former board member of the Michigan Association of CPAs and recipient of the AICPA's Woman to Watch: Experience Leader Award in 2020.
