Jamil Alonzo White, CPA, MBA, was born in Lansing, Mich. and raised in Silver Spring, Md. He is a financial executive with over 15 years of experience in various accounting fields including assurance, corporate accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance and M&A planning. Jamil has also worked in various industries including banking, real estate, television, digital media, technology powered services, utilities, education and asset management.
In the past he has worked for prestigious organizations such as Ernst & Young (EY), BET Networks and Washington Gas. Currently, Jamil serves as controller of New Energy Equity (NEE) and its subsidiaries, a solar developer and financier based out of Annapolis, Md. He is responsible for managing the company’s accounting and treasury operations and coordinating the company’s financial statement audits. Additionally, Jamil has held other senior leadership positions in accounting and finance, and prior to coming to NEE served as senior director of accounting and reporting at Howard University located in Washington, D.C.
Jamil graduated from Morgan State University with a bachelor of science in accounting, and he was the business school valedictorian.
