Richmond (June 1, 2023) — The Virginia Society of CPAs Political Action Committee (VSCPA PAC) is pleased to announce its officers and Board of Trustees for the 2023–2024 fiscal year. The members were appointed and recognized in May during the VSCPA’s annual business meeting at the VSCPA Learning & Innovation Center in Glen Allen.
Brandon L. Pope, CPA, of VACO Richmond, is serving as chair of the Board, and Vivian J. Page, CPA, a sole proprietor in Norfolk, is serving as vice-chair.
Board members include Larry Hurt, CPA, formerly with Franklin Community Bank in Salem; Bradford Jones, CPA, of PBMares in Fredericksburg; T. Brett Sinsabaugh, CPA, CCA, of Keiter in Glen Allen; Barbara Smith, CPA, of Cherry Bekaert in Virginia Beach; and Patrick Shuler, CPA, of FORIVS in Norfolk. VSCPA Vice President, Advocacy, Emily Walker, CAE, will serve as secretary/treasurer.
The VSCPA PAC, the political action committee associated with the VSCPA, was formed in 1981 for VSCPA members to pool resources to make political contributions. The PAC is a bipartisan committee that contributes funds to candidates who support CPA interests. The VSCPA PAC Board of Trustees is the governing body of the VSCPA PAC. The Board evaluates, recommends, and actively participates in fundraising activities.
