CPA Assembly Day

Help us transform the profession

Let's transform the accounting profession together

Every year, the VSCPA listens to our members, learns your pain points, strategies meaningful solutions, and disseminates that information back to the society. Every year, we take that information to Virginia's General Assembly and advocate for your best interests. And every year, we need the help of amazing members, like you, to meet with our legislators and advocate for your best interests.

With your help, this year we're...

    • Adding an additional licensure pathway for aspiring CPAs to make the profession more accessible.
    • Ensuring continued practice mobility for out-of-state CPAs practicing in Virginia.
    • Securing funding for the Virginia Department of Taxation to replace the state's significantly outdated revenue management system.

To make this happen, we need your help.

Join us at Virginia's General Assembly
to advocate for the accounting profession.

    Jan. 17 | 8–12 p.m.

Join VSCPA staff and your fellow peers at Virginia's capital to meet your legislator and chat about issues that matter to the accounting profession. We'll then follow-up our time on Capital Hill with a networking brunch hosted by our Young Professionals Action Committee at the Williams Mullen.

Why join us at VSCPA Assembly Day?

    • Nonpartisan issues — Nervous about how your personal politics align with your legislator or your peers? Our only goal is to help the accounting profession, working on nonpartisan issues through bipartisan strategy.
    • Unique learning opportunity — If you want to learn how to engage your legislator, this is a perfect opportunity to not only get training but also hands-on experience.
    • Grow your network — You'll be participating with other accountants who are eager to make a difference, the kind of peer who is going places and wants to lead. Find your fellow leaders and excel in your careers through mutual support.
    • Make real impact — Our CPA Assembly Days dramatically affect our profession, empowering the VSCPA to advocate on behalf of you and the profession. By giving us two half days, you'll empower us to create real solutions.
