VSCPA member Brian Frey, CPA, is one of 110 winners of the American Institute of CPAs’ (AICPA) 2018 Elijah Watt Sells Award, given to outstanding performers on the CPA Exam.
Frey, 24, is an audit associate at KPMG in Washington and a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, where he received the Accounting Award for the senior class in 2017. He was a double major in accounting and information systems.
“I believe that pursuing both degrees greatly prepared me for the CPA Exam,” Frey said. “I learned how to manage my time to meet the demands of both programs, in addition to all of the other activities I was involved in at college. I was really fortunate to have developed time management skills prior to studying for the CPA Exam as I was able to balance studying for the CPA with work responsibilities and a social life.”
