Richmond (Feb. 23, 2022) — The Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) is excited to announce the launch of Essential Ethics — aimed to be the go-to source for business ethics education for CPAs, accounting, finance, and other business professionals. For more than 15 years, the VSCPA has been a nationwide leader in producing ethics courses with innovative content on the pulse of the profession and business world. The new Essential Ethics brand expands the VSCPA’s slate of ethics courses, includes an ethics resource center, and more.

“The VSCPA has nearly two decades of experience designing ethics education courses for CPAs, previously serving as the exclusive content developer of Virginia-specific ethics with the Virginia Board of Accountancy,” said VSCPA President & CEO Stephanie Peters, CAE. “The launch of Essential Ethics is a natural evolution that builds on our unique ethics expertise to serve all business professionals. We’re excited to deliver fresh and relevant ethics courses and also serve as a knowledge hub of professional ethics resources.”

The first in this year’s new ethics lineup includes an exciting ripped from the headline course called Tales of Corruption: Ethical Misdeeds. Do good professionals go bad? Unfortunately, sometimes. Law and Order meets Dateline as this ethics course investigates five thrilling, true fraud cases and presents the ethical models that could have prevented them in the first place.

Last year, the VSCPA introduced a first-of-its-kind ethics course designed to create a foundation of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace and explore ethical considerations around unconscious bias, decision making and critical thinking.

Essential Ethics also includes customized courses for professionals in tax, corporate finance and government, as well as a new Ethics Resource Center with articles, whitepapers, and more. For more information on the VSCPA ethics courses and to register today, visit www.Essential-Ethics.com.
