Richmond (October 16, 2019) — The Virginia Society of CPAs announces Inaugural Women's Leadership Forum. This nearly sold-out event is designed to empower, inspire and champion female success in finance and technology.
During the one-day forum, women and their male allies, will learn to recognize and address imposter syndrome and communicate with confidence. Participants will hear from experts in professional presentation skills, building a sense of empowerment and overcoming fear of failure.
“This event is for everyone who supports building and sustaining a strong and diverse workplace,” said Linda Newsom-McCurdy, Senior Director of Learning at the VSCPA. “Women can struggle with being self-champions; we hope this forum will give them the skills and confidence to be their own best advocates and grow their careers.”
The VSCPA plans for this event to become an annual occurrence as part of their commitment to diversity and inclusion across the accounting profession and within its own walls. This conference is supporting Dress for Success Central Virginia by collecting donations of clothes and money. Anyone who donates will be entered to win a free registration to the 2020 Women's Leadership Forum.
