Virginia Society of CPAs Educational Foundation Announces Officers, Board of Directors

Richmond (May 18, 2021) — The Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) Educational Foundation announces its officers and Board of Directors for the 2021–2022 fiscal year, who were recognized at the VSCPA’s annual business meeting held virtually May 13. 

Nicholas Harrison, CPA, of KPMG in Richmond, is serving as chair of the Board. 
Three VSCPA members were named vice chairs of the Foundation Board: Scott Davis, CPA, of Prager Metis CPAs in McLean; Elizabeth Marsteller, CPA, of DHG in McLean; and Melanie Randall, CPA, of McKinney & Company in Ashland. VSCPA Vice President, Finance and Administration Beth Bickford, CPA, will serve as secretary-treasurer. 

At-large Board members include: Michael Crichton, CPA, of Burdette Smith & Bish, LLC, in Fairfax; Jaime Lynn Dernar, CPA, of Paya, Inc., in Reston; Chris Enright, CPA, sole proprietor in Montpelier; Cheryl Fields, CPA, of Owens & Minor in Mechanicsville; Heather Flanagan, CPA, of KPMG in Washington, D.C.; Dianne Guensberg, CPA, sole proprietor in McLean; Marshall Handy, CPA, of Roger L. Handy, PC, in Virginia Beach; Kevin Matthews, CPA, of Beta Solutions CPA, LLC, in Reston;  Yoland Sinclair, CPA, of Deloitte in McLean; Randy Spurrier, CPA, formerly of Old Dominion University in Norfolk; Natalya Yashina, CPA, of Hospitality Investors Trust in Fairfax; and Donna Yenney, CPA, of Tredegar Corporation in Richmond.  
Founded in 1984, the mission of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) Educational Foundation is to inspire and support future CPAs. The Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting business and accounting education, rewarding academic excellence and encouraging students to pursue promising careers. The Foundation supports accounting students through scholarships and grants, including awarding more than $50,000 in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral scholarships annually.
