  • We are now deeply embedded into an era where the ability to work remotely is no longer optional. The ability to communicate, collaborate and share knowledge digitally, via the cloud, is a fundamental requirement for every business organization. Since most businesses utilize the Microsoft Office suite of productivity applications, deploying the Microsoft 365 and the Teams apps is a natural strategy to provide a digital communications, collaboration and knowledge sharing platform through an evolutionary, not revolutionary, transition. This course will teach you how the Microsoft 365 ecosystem of apps can transform your organization. This course is one part of a five-part series for CFOs.

    Major topics include: 

    Understanding the Microsoft ecosystem

    • This session provides an overview of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem including the desktop, cloud and mobile apps and how they work together.We will discuss the strategic impact that Microsoft 365 can have on your day-to-day operations and the subscription licensing model and alternative plans available.

    Microsoft 365’s core: Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive

    • This session begins by taking a close look at how to use the Teams app as the foundation for your digital communication, collaboration and knowledge sharing platform. You will learn the importance of developing a Teams deployment strategy and discuss best practices. We will also demonstrate how SharePoint and OneDrive serve as your primary document storage solution in the cloud and how Teams and SharePoint connect at the hip.

    Putting Microsoft 365 to use

    • This session will review how to integrate file sharing into Teams conversations, share file access externally, collaborate on document preparation and editing. We will also demonstrate how the core apps of OneNote, Planner and Power BI can enhance your digital platform.

    Exploring and deploying the Microsoft 365 apps

    • In this module we will do a round robin review of all the Microsoft 365 apps, so that you can determine each apps’ strategic value so you can determine if, and when, you should deploy them. We will review a step-by-step approach to deploying Microsoft 365, including the Admin role and how to assign that responsibility.
