The VSCPA will conduct an initial review and, if necessary, an investigation of the matter in accordance with the Joint Ethics Enforcement Program (JEEP)*. The procedures of JEEP require that an investigation be conducted in a confidential manner and that results not be published with the following exceptions: If after investigation the matter is presented to a hearing panel of the Joint Trial Board, and the panel finds one or more members guilty of violating the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct, or the investigation results in a settlement agreement involving membership rights (suspension or expulsion) the results will be published.
*The Joint Ethics Enforcement Program is designed to permit joint enforcement of the Code of Professional Conduct with respect to a member of either or both organizations.
** If an individual is not a VSCPA member, you may contact the AICPA Membership Department at (888) 777-7077, menu option number one followed by option number two, to determine if an individual is an AICPA member.
