Each year, the VSCPA recommends nominees for appointment to the Virginia Board of Accountancy (VBOA). In an effort to provide the best nominations possible through building a diverse pool of qualified individuals, the Society is seeking suggestions from its membership. If you know someone who would like to be considered, please ask them to complete this online form and submit it by Monday, Nov. 2.
VBOA members are appointed by the Governor, and each member serves a four-year term. Members represent the entire CPA community and work to protect the public. Qualified candidates should possess an open mind, a willingness to represent the CPA profession in a board setting and a commitment to the CPA profession.
The VBOA is made up of the following members:
Four Virginia-licensed CPAs from public practice
One Virginia-licensed CPA from industry or public practice
One Virginia-licensed CPA who is an accounting educator
One non-CPA member of the public
Membership terms are staggered over a four-year period.
For more information about the appointment process, please contact VSCPA Vice President, Advocacy Emily Walker, CAE, at [email protected] or (804) 612-9428.
