Hello, this is Alan Nicholas, peer review manager for the VSCPA with our second installment of the Peer Review Source. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and are off to a happy and healthy New Year! I know that the busiest part of the year for most of you is underway, so I’ll keep this installment brief, with some new information, and some carrying over from our fall newsletter for friendly reminders. We know that many of you may still be going through the AICPA’s peer review database (PRIMA) for the first time, as it only replaced PRISM just over a year-and-a-half ago, and with that, questions will arise. Please see our staff tips section regarding enrollment information, updating peer review information (PRI), and other general items you will encounter as you move towards having your next peer review.
Additionally, please see our section with tips from our Technical Reviewers. This month, Robert M. Moore, Jr., CPA, provides tips on Preparation Engagements and the requirements set forth for firms performing these services.
I hope you continue to find these communications to be informative and beneficial, and I greatly look forward to working with you, if I haven’t already. If you have any feedback, questions or ideas for future content, please let us know. We’d love to hear from you!
