Richmond (Nov. 3, 2014) — The Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) is pleased to announce President & CEO Stephanie Peters, CAE, was installed as President of the Board of Directors of the Certified Public Accountants Society Executives Association (CPA/SEA) on Oct. 18.

Formed more than 40 years ago, CPA/SEA is made up of all state CPA society chief executive officers/executive directors throughout the U.S. Through its four strategic and operational values of leadership, integrity, collaboration and exploration, CPA/SEA enables its members to choose informed courses of action on professional issues affecting CPAs. CPA/SEA has a working board of 10 people that meets on a regular basis to oversee operations and provide leadership to the organization. Most CPA/SEA programs and services are made possible through the work of a variety of task forces supported by CPA/SEA members.

“I am honored to represent the CPA profession and the state societies which are dedicated to enhancing the success of all certified public accountants by promoting professionalism and advocating on behalf of the interest of their members,” Peters said.

At the VSCPA, Peters leads national and state professional issues, legislative and regulatory initiatives, strategic planning, and external relations. She is also a member of the VSCPA Board of Directors and Executive Committee. A Certified Association Executive (CAE), Peters has been on the Virginia Society of Association Executives (VSAE) Board of Directors since 2006, previously serving as secretary, treasurer and vice president. She completed the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Institute for Organization Management (IOM), a four-year professional development program for association and chamber executives. Peters also serves on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Council on Economic Education (VCEE). She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and her master's degree in public administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
