September Is Service Month at the VSCPA

October 5, 2018

September is Service Month at the VSCPA, when we highlight service, volunteerism and how CPA serve the public and their communities. Here’s what we’re doing to celebrate:

  • Celebrating Virginia CPA Week, with the accompanying Governor’s proclamation and testimonials from VSCPA members on why they chose to become CPAs
  • A Q&A with VSCPA volunteer Tommy Blackburn, CPA, on his volunteer experience
  • VSCPA President & CEO Stephanie Peters’ “Stephanie Says” blog on how and why to volunteer with the Society
  • Stephanie's "President's Perspective" column from the September/October issue of Disclosures magazine on how the VSCPA is involved in the Virginia Board of Accountancy's selection process
  • A Member Spotlight on one of those members, Barclay Bradshaw, CPA, who recently began his second term on the VBOA
  • A Member Thoughts blog post from VSCPA member Kris McMackin, CPA, owner of Kris McMackin CPA in Staunton, detailing her firm’s community service projects
  • An explainer on how to volunteer with the VSCPA
  • Promoting our revamped #CPAsGiveBack campaign, the successor to our successful CPA Day of Service program
  • Continuing to highlight our CPAs in the Classroom initiative

Thanks to all the CPA volunteers who serve the profession, their communities and the VSCPA!
