Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell has appointed VSCPA member Jim Holland, CPA, to fill the vacant spot on the Virginia Board of Accountancy (VBOA).
Holland is a sole proprietor in Chesterfield County and a professor at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). He has represented the Dale district on the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors since 2007 and serves as the board’s vice chairman.
A U.S. Army veteran, Holland is retired from Philip Morris International. He served on the Board of Commissioners of the Virginia Public School Authority under Govs. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine and was a member of the Capital Region Airport Commission, where he chaired the finance committee.
Holland, a North Carolina native, earned his bachelor’s degree from Fayetteville State University and his master’s in business administration from North Carolina Central University.
