What is the deadline for paying annual dues?
Annual membership statements are mailed in early May. The deadline for payment is May 31. 

May I pay with a credit card?
Yes! You may pay with American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa, and this site includes a secure online renewal form.

What percentage of my dues is deductible?
Dues payments, contributions or gifts to the VSCPA are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.  However, they may be deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses subject to restrictions imposed as a result of lobbying activities of this organization as defined by the Revenue Reconciliation Act of 1993.  The VSCPA estimates that the nondeductible portion of your 2017-2018 dues – the portion that is allocated to lobbying – is 1%.

Are there any concessions for paying dues if I'm unemployed?

Yes. The VSCPA offers an employed or leave of absence dues rate for members experiencing unemployment. Simply contact us at membership@vscpa.com or (800) 733-8272 to update your professional profile. When you begin working again, please let us know at (800) 733-8272.

What are my options if I can't afford dues this year?
We have a payment plan for members experiencing financial hardship. Please call us at (800) 733-8272 for details.

Am I obligated to make the VSCPA PAC and VSCPA Educational Foundation contributions that appear on my dues statement?
Contributions to the PAC and VSCPA Educational Foundation are entirely voluntary. We encourage you to contribute at the suggested amount or more, but if you choose not to, you may deduct it from your total. Please note that contributions to the Educational Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, are tax deductible.

Can I reinstate my membership?
Of course! We welcome you back. Former members applying for reinstatement must fill out a new membership application to qualify. You may select either associate or fellow membership when reinstating, and special dues promotions do not apply to reinstatements.
