VSCPA Members Recognized in "Super CPA" Contest in Virginia Business Magazine

Thousands of extraordinary certified public accountants (CPA) work in Virginia, but this year's "Super CPA" contest in Virginia Business magazine identifies more than 350 "best of the best" of the CPA profession. The Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) is pleased to announce its CPA members that were selected winners in the prestigious listing.

In its fifth consecutive year, Virginia Business partners with the VSCPA to offer this special program to highlight Virginia's top CPAs for their important contributions to their respected profession and the prosperity of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Some CPAs stand out because of the superior work they do for their firms, companies, nonprofits or government agencies. Others devote themselves to securing the future of the CPA designation by teaching accounting's next generation. And the "Super CPA" contest now recognizes future leaders — the younger and newer CPAs whose passion and dedication will help move the profession toward a successful future.

Virginia Business sent an official ballot to more than 5,000 Virginia CPAs asking them to identify the names of peers they considered to be the best at their craft. After the ballots were counted, more than 350 winners were selected in 12 categories. The magazine added three new categories this year to better reflect the diversity of the evolving CPA profession: College/University Accounting Educators, Estate Planning and Young CPAs. The winners are highlighted in a special "Super CPAs" report in the November 2005 issue of Virginia Business.
