A New Brand, the Same Member Focus

Three words: Connect, Protect and Achieve. These words sum up the Virginia Society of CPAs’ (VSCPA) mission and its efforts to enhance the success of CPAs within the borders of the Commonwealth and beyond. With 10,000 members, the VSCPA is a potent voice protecting and promoting the CPA profession.

The 2010–2011 State of the VSCPA report details the VSCPA’s efforts to help its members Connect, Protect and Achieve while adhering to its top five strategies for 2009–2012:

  • Strategy 1: Address the unique opportunities and challenges in our geographic areas.

  • Strategy 2: Serve as the premier provider of education to CPAs and other accounting professionals in a challenging and changing environment.

  • Strategy 3: Be a resource of unbiased information on Virginia business, finance and economy.

  • Strategy 4: Provide a membership dues and category structure to promote a healthy pipeline of members.

  • Strategy 5: Offer an initiative for students and young professionals that supports aspiring and new CPAs.

Here’s a look at the VSCPA’s progress over the last membership year, spanning May 1, 2010, through April 30, 2011, and how the Society has helped members Connect, Protect and Achieve.
