VSCPA Nonprofit Pro Bono Assistance Program

If your nonprofit or charitable organization is in need of pro bono financial planning assistance, let Virginia CPAs help. As part of our award-winning VSCPA Financial Fitness campaign, CPAs provide pro bono assistance on financial issues to organizations in need in the Commonwealth of Virginia. If you're interested, start by answering the following questions:

  • Does your organization meet the criteria outlined by the IRS for a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization?
  • Is your organization registered (or file taxes) in the Commonwealth of Viginia?

If you answered yes to both, then you should:

  • Prepare a brief statement of your organization's request (tax preparation, pre-audit preparation, basic money management, etc.).**
  • Make a copy of your organization's 501(c)3 IRS determination letter.
  • Submit your request and determination letter to the VSCPA, including your organization's name, primary contact, address, telephone number, fax number and email address. The information can be sent via email, faxed to (804) 273-1741 or mailed to P.O. Box 4620, Glen Allen, VA 23058.

You will be contacted within three business days with information about your request. CPAs in your geographic region will receive information via email about your organization, and volunteer for the opportunity based on their availability and skill sets.

**Requests for audit, review or assurance services are not available through the VSCPA Nonprofit Pro Bono Assistance program. Visit Find a CPA to search for a CPA in your geographic region who can provide these services.
