Election Information

The VSCPA encourages everyone to vote in the November 4, 2008, general election.

Absentee Ballot Information:

  • Download an absentee ballot application here (.PDF).
  • The last day to fax an absentee ballot application in is Tuesday, October 28. You should receive your ballot within 48 hours. You have until 7 p.m. on November 4 (election day) for your ballot to be turned in and counted. You can turn it in personally or mail it so long as it is received no later than 7 p.m. on election day.
  • The last day to file an absentee ballot application in person is Saturday, November 1. You will then receive your ballot within 48 hours. You then have until 7 p.m. on November 4 (election day) for your ballot to be turned in and counted. Because of this tight time frame, it is recommended that you deliver the ballot in person rather than by mail to ensure it is counted.
  • Click here for more information on this process from the Virginia State Board of Elections.

Information on Voting in Person Before Election Day:

If you are unable to vote in the polls on November 4, you can vote in person by going to the registrar's office until November 1 at 5 p.m. Click here to find your local voter registration office.
