VSCPA Offers Free Workplace Financial Education Program for Virginia Employers

Research shows that work productivity suffers due to personal financial concerns. In fact, a recent study reveals employees spend five or more hours each month worried about or dealing with their personal financial situations at work. The Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) is pleased to launch Financial Fitness University — a free workplace education and training program designed to help employees improve their personal finances.

Part of the VSCPA’s award-winning Financial Fitness campaign, the Financial Fitness University program provides knowledgeable CPA instructors to address personal financial issues with employees. In addition, Virginia employers can download free resources, such as articles, paycheck inserts, flyers and table tents, for continuing financial education. Available on the VSCPA consumer Web site, www.FinancialFitness.org, these materials are just some of the many pro bono resources offered by the VSCPA to improve the financial health of all Virginians.

"Recent statistics reveal that Americans, including Virginians, know little about savings, debt, credit, retirement and other money management basics,” said Tina Lambert, CAE, VSCPA vice president of member & public relations. “The Virginia Society of CPAs is pleased to offer Financial Fitness University to Virginia employers to increase work productivity and help employees improve their financial health."

Free financial resources can be downloaded online at www.FinancialFitness.org.
