VSCPA Volunteers Help Kids Get Financially Fit at Radio Disney EventsThe Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) participated in Radio Disney's Move It! summer mall tour. The Move It! tour celebrates music and movement to encourage children to adopt a healthy lifestyle — including being financially fit. The events took place on July 21, 2007, at Chesapeake Square Mall in Chesapeake and July 28, 2007, at Virginia Center Commons in Richmond. During the Disney Move It! events, VSCPA volunteers talked to kids and their parents about saving and managing money responsibly. The kids were given a special flyer and money-themed treats, including 100 Grand bars and candy coins. Parents received a copy of the VSCPA's 2007 Financial Fitness Calendar — a 12-month wall calendar and consumer resource guide — as well as other materials that promote the importance of saving and wise money management.
