VSCPA Financial Fitness for Women Workshops The Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) is pleased to announce the launch of a new financial literacy workshop series for women. The free seminars, designed to address financial issues women face in their professional and personal life, are part of the VSCPA's award-winning financial literacy campaign called Financial Fitness. More than 70 Richmond area women attended the workshop, called "Women of the 21st Century," in January at the Richmond CPA Center. Approximately 90 women attended the July workshop, titled "The Family Love Letter: Key to Execution of Your Estate Plan," also at the Richmond CPA Center. Each workshop is two hours and offers complimentary food and beverage. Discussion leaders include a certified public accountant (CPA), and a certified financial planner (CFP), both of Richmond. Through community outreach and education, the VSCPA Financial Fitness campaign is part of a national effort of the CPA profession to educate and increase knowledge of Virginians and all Americans — from school children to retirees — on topics related to money management and fiscal responsibility. |
