Enhanced Online Career Center Benefits Accounting Job Seekers

Job seekers looking for careers in accounting have a new resource at their fingertips — an enhanced interactive job board from the VSCPA. The VSCPA Career Center focuses on accounting industry jobs, benefiting both those looking for accounting positions as well as Virginia companies searching for high-quality talent.

The easy-to-use Career Center, available at http://careercenter.vscpa.com/, is a highly targeted resource that helps prospective employees and companies make employment connections — a real plus in a recessed economy.

“We know how critical it is for Virginia employers in the accounting industry to attract first-rate talent with a minimum expenditure of time and resources,” said VSCPA President & CEO Stephanie R. Peters, CAE. “And it’s important for us to enable smooth career transitions for those seeking industry jobs.”

For job seekers, the VSCPA Career Center is a free service that provides access to employers and jobs in the accounting industry. In addition to posting their résumés, job seekers can browse and view available positions based on their criteria and save those jobs for later review. Seekers can also create a search agent to provide e-mail notifications of jobs that match their criteria.

Employers can post jobs online, search for qualified candidates based on specific job criteria and create an online résumé agent to e-mail qualified candidates daily. They also benefit from online reporting that provides job activity statistics.

The VSCPA developed the VSCPA Career Center in partnership with Boxwood Technology, Inc., the leading provider of career center services for the association industry, and the only such provider endorsed by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
