The Leaders' Institute
June 12–14, 2009, at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business With a generous $100,000 gift from accounting/consulting firm Beers + Cutler, the VSCPA Educational Foundation established the first-ever Leaders' Institute in 2007. Following in the footsteps of the great success in 2007, the 2008 event continued to host 70 of Virginia’s brightest accounting students at the University of Virginia, Darden School of Business in Charlottesville. The Leaders' Institute on June 12–14, 2009, promises to be better than ever! Accounting educators can now nominate outstanding students, and students can nominate themselves for the 2009 Leaders’ Institute. This three-day program for the top 100 rising juniors and seniors in accounting from Virginia colleges or universities seeks to bridge the gap between “student” and “young professional." Students develop interviewing, leadership and team building skills, while also learning about business etiquette, choosing the right employer, surviving the CPA Exam and managing personal finances.If you are an accounting educator, accounting student or a professional who knows of a deserving candidate for The Leaders’ Institute, please feel free to download the student nomination form (.PDF) and the educator nomination form (.PDF) and follow the directions on the forms to submit a nomination.
