VSCPA 2008 Legislative Agenda
The VSCPA will tackle the following legislative agenda when the Virginia General Assembly convenes in January 2008:
- Advocate for conformity of the tax code.
- Advocate for a mandatory graduation requirement in financial literacy.
- Support and promote practice mobility among all states.
- Advocate to reduce the penalties on pass-through entity returns to conform to the federal tax code.
- Oppose patents on tax advice and/or tax strategies.
- Protect against any legislation that negatively impacts the CPA profession or designation in Virginia.
