An image enhancement campaign isn't just about advertising. To support the advertising plan, the VSCPA's public relations efforts include staying in touch with print and broadcast media by meeting personally with editors and reporters throughout the state and generating press releases about CPAs and other business-related financial topics. The VSCPA also distributes monthly Money Management columns and public service announcements to educate the public on financial planning and small business issues.
Here are some of the VSCPA's public relations goals:
-
Enhance the image of CPAs and the profession in the minds of business and professional people, the media, the academic community and the general public.
-
Increase public understanding of the range of CPA services.
-
Maintain and protect the meaning and integrity of the title "CPA."
-
Attract qualified candidates to enter the profession.
-
Increase awareness of the VSCPA and CPA profession across the state.
