2008–2009 VSCPA Educational Foundation Minority Scholarship
On average, five scholarships of up to $1,500 each are awarded annually to minority students who are enrolled in an accredited Virginia college or university and who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant must be a United States citizen.
- Applicant must be a member of one of the following race/ethnic groups: American Indian or Alaskan Native, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander.
- Applicant must be currently enrolled in an accredited Virginia college or university undergraduate or graduate program with the intent to pursue a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Applicant must have completed at least three (3) hours of accounting and be currently registered for at least three (3) more accounting credit hours (supporting documentation required).
- Applicant must demonstrate a minimum overall and accounting GPA of 3.0.
- Application must be typed or printed.

- Essay (500-word maximum) that describes a situation in which you have utilized one or more of the following competencies:
- Leadership: Describe a situation in which you demonstrated the ability to influence, inspire and motivate an individual or group of individuals to achieve desired results.
- Ethical Conduct: Describe a situation in which you were confronted with an ethical dilemma and explain how you confronted the issue.
- Decision Making: Describe a situation in which you demonstrated effective problem solving through your decision-making skills, personal insight, judgment and creativity.

- Most recent official transcript reflecting GPA
