VSCPA Educational Foundation Receives $50,000 Gift from Yount, Hyde & Barbour to Establish Scholarship
The VSCPA Educational Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of an endowed student scholarship by Yount, Hyde & Barbour PC. The third largest Virginia-based CPA firm has committed to fund a $2,500 annual scholarship while building up to their $50,000 endowed gift to the Foundation. The first scholarship in the firm’s name will be awarded in spring 2008.
The Yount, Hyde & Barbour Annual Scholarship will be awarded each year to a junior or senior accounting major planning to take the CPA Exam. The student must be currently enrolled in an accredited Virginia college or university and demonstrate academic excellence and financial need.
“Our firm has a proud history of leadership in the VSCPA, with five of our shareholders being past presidents and chairs of the VSCPA,” said Mark Rudolph, CPA, president of Yount, Hyde & Barbour PC. “We continue to believe it is important to contribute to the CPA profession in Virginia by investing in the future leaders of businesses and CPA firms. This endowed scholarship, through the VSCPA Educational Foundation, is a legacy for accounting education and a tribute to the wonderful team members at Yount, Hyde & Barbour.”
