2011–2012 VSCPA Educational Foundation Graduate Scholarship
On average, four scholarships of up to $1,000 each are awarded annually to graduate students who are accepted or enrolled in an accredited Virginia college or university and who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant must be a United States citizen.
- Applicant must be accepted or currently enrolled in a graduate accounting program at an accredited Virginia college or university.
- Applicant must demonstrate a minimum overall and accounting undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Application must be typed or printed.

- Completed faculty letter of recommendation
- Essay (500-word maximum) that describes a situation in which you have utilized one or more of the following competencies:
- Leadership: Describe a situation in which you demonstrated the ability to influence, inspire and motivate an individual or group of individuals to achieve desired results.
- Ethical Conduct: Describe a situation in which you were confronted with an ethical dilemma and explain how you confronted the issue.
- Decision Making: Describe a situation in which you demonstrated effective problem solving through your decision-making skills, personal insight, judgment and creativity.
- Philanthropy: Describe a situation in which you demonstrated philanthropic behavior, thereby solving a problem for or improving your community.
- Current résumé
- Official transcript reflecting GPA from fall 2010 (spring or summer 2010 also acceptable if fall 2010 is not yet available; may be mailed separately)

- Applications for the 2011-2012 academic year are due no later than January 10, 2011. Applications will be available for download in September.
