Stephanie R. Peters, CAE, is president & CEO of the VSCPA, the statewide professional association for CPAs. She leads the VSCPA on national and state professional issues, legislative and regulatory oversight, strategic planning, Board of Directors relations, Board resolutions and policies and external relations. She is also a member of the VSCPA Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
Peters was previously the VSCPAs' executive vice president, working on state and national professional issues, leading strategic planning, serving as a liaison with the Virginia Board of Accountancy (BOA) and sitting on a BOA task force to amend the regulations governing CPAs in Virginia. Prior to serving as vice president, she held the VSCPA government relations manager position, where she was actively involved in the drafting, lobbying and passage of the Accountancy Reform Act.
A Certified Association Executive (CAE), Peters sits on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Society of Association Executives. She is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Institute of Association Management. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and her master's of public administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
