Conference Planner
The Virginia Society of CPAs (VSCPA), a professional state association located in Richmond, Va., seeks a Conference Planner to join our progressive team. Position reports to our Conference Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
- Implements conference strategies, development and logistics
- Coordinates and leads conference planning task forces
- Provides direction on conference content and format
- Coordinates conference budgets
- Works collaboratively with members, speakers and staff
- Keeps up to date on the latest trends in education and needs of members
- Seeks and builds alliances and partnerships
Skills/Knowledge
- Exceptional project planning and project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Contract negotiation
- Analyzes and solves problems
- Customer service-oriented
- Proficiently uses financial and quantitative data
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Proven ability to manage and implement multiple projects simultaneously
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of five years education or meeting planning experience
- Must thrive in a collaborative, team environment
- Experience with associations/nonprofits a plus
- Some travel required

Marketing Specialist
The Virginia Society of CPAs (VSCPA), a professional state association located in Richmond, Va., seeks a Marketing Specialist to develop and implement marketing plans for membership recruitment and retention, VSCPA Educational Foundation fundraising and CPA PAC of Virginia fundraising. Position reports to our Marketing Director.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develops and implements marketing plans
- Consults with VSCPA staff and members on marketing tactics
- Writes, edits and proofreads marketing materials
- Designs marketing materials
- Takes pictures for marketing materials
- Shoots and edits video for marketing purposes
- Coordinates print and mail shop activities
- Coordinates marketing activities that are handled internally, such as email, mail, social media and multimedia
Skills/Knowledge
- Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Familiarity with the AP Style Guide and/or experience working with corporate style standards
- Exceptional project planning and management skills
- Strong creative conceptual ability and creative collaboration skills
- Strong spatial and design skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, InCopy and Premiere
- Knowledge of Dreamweaver, broadcast email software and web-based content management systems
- Good knowledge of printing services
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication or related field
- Minimum of three years marketing experience
- Must thrive in a collaborative, team environment
- Experience with associations/nonprofits a plus
