IRS Lockbox Network Changes Mean New Addresses for Virginia ReturnsThe U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the U.S. Treasury Department’s Financial Management Service (FMS) have made changes to streamline the lockbox network, which will affect individual taxpayers in Virginia. The lockbox operations in Atlanta and St. Louis are closing effective Dec. 31, 2012. Individual taxpayers in nine states, including Virginia, will now send payments to the lockbox site in Louisville, Ky. Taxpayers in Virginia, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee will send payments to the following addresses:
