Instructors | TopArthur Auerbach, CPA, is an independent tax consultant specializing in financial planning and tax consulting for individuals and closely held businesses. He is a member of the Virginia Society of CPAs (VSCPA) and the Greater Washington Society of CPAs (GWSCPA). He is also a tax commissioner liaison committee member of the VSCPA and a revenue advisory board member of the District of Columbia Office of Tax and Revenue. Additionally, he is a nationally recognized lecturer on a variety of tax topics for the continuing education requirement for CPAs. Over the course of more than 40 years, Auerbach has managed a tax department and has taught intermediate and cost accounting at Pace University as an adjunct professor. He was an editor for the Tax Research Institute of America. He has also authored several articles for trade association periodicals and he has recently appeared on television evening news programs answering various tax questions. Jerry E. Spratt, CPA, CFE, is the assistant legislative auditor for the Arkansas Division of Legislative Audit and has served the organization for 37 years. He directed the fraud deterrence and detection efforts of the division from 1980 to 2007. Spratt also conducts seminars on fraud deterrence and detection for many professional and local organizations and associations. He received the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners 2004 CFE of the Year Award, the ARCPA 2004 Outstanding CPA in Government Award and the ARCPA 2005 Mac Angel Discussion Leader of the Year Award.
