Important Membership Information | Top

It is important that you are aware of the requirements for maintaining membership in the VSCPA. Please review the VSCPA Bylaws (.PDF) and the Code of Professional Conduct.

The Peer Review Program is designed to help firms maintain consistent quality control and achieve a higher level of service in the profession. It also lets you know if your firm measures up to the highest professional standards for CPA firms nationwide.

If your firm is performing audits, reviews or compilations and is not currently enrolled in an approved-practice monitoring program, you will need to enroll in the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) or VSCPA Peer Review Program.

For more information about peer review, please visit the "Peer Review" section of the VSCPA website or contact the VSCPA Peer Review Team at (800) 733-8272.

Reinstatements | Top

Former members applying for reinstatement must fill out a new membership application to qualify. You may select either associate or fellow membership when reinstating. Special dues promotions do not apply to reinstatements.

If you are a proprietor, shareholder or employee of a public accounting firm, your firm must be enrolled in an approved practice-monitoring program to qualify for membership.

Yes! You may pay with American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa, and this site includes a secure online renewal form.

Are there any concessions for paying dues if I'm unemployed?
Yes. The VSCPA offers an employed or leave of absence dues rate for members experiencing unemployment. Simply contact the Member Services Team at membership@vscpa.com or (800) 733-8272 to update your professional profile. When you begin working again, please let us know at (800) 733-8272.

We have a payment plan for members experiencing financial hardship. Please call the Member Services Team at (800) 733-8272 for details.

Am I obligated to make the CPA PAC and Educational Foundation contributions that appear on my dues statement?
Contributions to the CPA PAC and Educational Foundation are entirely voluntary. Please note that contributions to the Educational Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, are tax deductible.

Are dues prorated if I join mid-year?
Yes, your first-year dues are discounted by 25 percent beginning in August, by 50 percent beginning in November. In February, dues revert to the full amount, but your membership extends from the date you join through following membership year, allowing you to get up to 15 months of membership for the price of 12.
